Cali is the third most populous city in Colombia, with approximately 2.5 million people. It is located in the southwest, in the Valley of the Cauca River, between the Western and Central Cordillera of the Andes. Besides being the only major Colombian city with access to the Pacific Ocean, which makes it an economic center for the region, Cali is also a center for sports in Colombia and Latin America, and a center for Biological research leaded by important universities like the Universidad del Valle, which is the third largest University in the country, and Universidad ICESI.

How to get to Cali?
Cali is located 458 km from the Colombian capital (Bogotá). Although driving or taking ground transportation is an option, we don't recommend it since the conditions of the roads are often unreliable, and the trip could take up to 10+ hours.The city is served by an international airport (Alfonso Bonilla Aragon) located 17 km from the city in the town of Palmira. Many daily flights go from Bogotá to Cali.
Climate
Cali is located at 1018 m of elevation between two major mountain ranges, which favors it with a warm dry tropical climate with average temperature of 25 °C.
